Riebel '66 - Chapter Advisor
Born 4/24/47, graduated from Miami U in 1970
with a Psychology degree and a teaching minor. The best decision
(next to marrying Sue) I made there was to join Pikes. I learned
a lot about getting along with people and how an organization
functions.
I taught High School social studies at Edgewood
High for seven years. We then decided to have the first of our
two boys and I went to GE Aircraft Engines for the next 14 years
until downsized in 1991. About that time I was asked to become
a member of Dodd Hall.
For the next 6 years, I built a small real estate
portfolio of about 20 properties, now down to 16. I became Chapter
Advisor in 1996. Then went back to work in 1997, and was downsized
from two more companies before becoming Inventory Manager at
Galerie in Hebron , KY. A $70M novelty business that sells gift
items to Walmart, Target, K-Mart, Rite-Aid, etc.
Sue teaches preschool in the morning and works
at the Fairfield YMCA in membership services in the afternoon
and evening.
Both my sons graduated from Denison University
in Granville, both swam for the Denison team. One majored in
Astrophysics, one in Chemistry. The older, David, taught physics
at the Naval Nuclear Power School in Charleston , the younger,
Mark, will be a nuclear sub officer on the USS Houston stationed
in Guam . He reports in June. My older son is now out of the
Navy and traveling in Australia and New Zealand . He wants to
get his Ph.D. in Astronomy went he returns.
Sue and I currently live in Fairfield , Ohio
